This course provides a basic introduction to threat landscape of cyberspace, the cyber threats all people and organizations face, and the best ways to mitigate them. In the first half of the course, learners will explore the evolution, prevalence, and severity of cyber threats along with the two main attack vectors used to execute cyberattacks - social engineering and technical exploitation. 

In the second half of the courses, four prominent cyber incidents will be reviewed, providing real-life examples to learners. After reviewing each incident, both the organization-wide strategies and individual tactics that could have mitigated such attacks will be explored. At the organizational level, the cybersecurity frameworks from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), will be applied to each case study.
